Building Homes That Hold Us.
Affordable and accessible housing rooted in community, culture, and care β starting with our seniors, and growing to serve generations.

Our Mission
Kindred Homes creates intentional, community-rooted housing where people feel safe, seen, and supported. We believe home is more than a place β itβs a connection to culture, comfort, and collective care.
Who We Serve
We focus on serving communities that have been systemically excluded from safe, stable, and affordable housing β including older adults, families, and people who benefit from accessible, culturally affirming environments.
What We Do
Develop and steward affordable housing rooted in care
Partner with mission-aligned developers and service providers
Advocate for equitable, joyful housing models
Create sustainable housing pipelines for historically excluded communities

Our Flagship Destination
βKindred Livingβ
Kindred Living offers affordable, accessible private homes for older adults, with shared community spaces designed to support companionship, wellness, and joy.
Weβre building neighborhoods β not just units β that support independence and connection.

Our Vision
Weβre reimagining housing for people whoβve historically been excluded from safe, stable housing. Our work starts with our elders β and grows toward a future where communities can age, grow, and thrive together.
Who We Are
Kindred Homes was born from a family vision.
Founded by Kiara Daniels, a longtime housing champion and community developer, and inspired by her mother, Sandra Daniels β a dedicated public servant who dreamed of retiring in a home shared with friends β Kindred Homes is the beginning of that dream made real.
What's Next
Future programs will expand to support:
Intergenerational housing
Supportive housing partnerships
Community ownership and stewardship models
Kindred Homes is growing a housing ecosystem where legacy and future live side by side.

Our Flagship Project
Kindred Living is a 12-unit affordable housing community designed for older adults who want to live independently while staying connected to culture, community, and care. Each 1-bedroom, 1-bath unit is thoughtfully designed for accessibility, with shared community space for gathering, wellness, and everyday connection.
This is more than housing β itβs a model for small-scale, community-rooted living that we hope to replicate across Pierce County.
